Vaios and Koula opened their first restaurant at Palekastro in 1980. In 1989 they moved in Agathias. Since then, the name “Vaios” is famous among European visitors of the area, who they become firm frequenters of the restaurant during their vacation, knowing very well that they will not be disappointed by the superlative flavour fo the Cretan cuisine of Vaios and Koula.
Vaios is the “master” of barbecue. Meat and fish get a special savour under his “attention”. His plat du jour is “bekri meze”.
Koula undertakes the prepartion and the cooking of every homemade meal. Her mousakas, pastitsio, gemista, giouvetsi, as well as her pies are unique.
Beyond all these, what distinguishes this restaurant and attracts permanent customers through the years is the genuine and friendly character of its owners. Nobody leaves this restaurant without having felt the warm, true and gentle ambience. There you can loose yourself and feel this sincere cretan hospitality and authenticity.
